Personalize your profile

Your handle page is where people find you on Handle. A picture, a name and a few words of your own help them recognize it. Each one is optional, so add what feels right and skip the rest.

Where to start

Sign in, open the menu in the header, and choose Settings. The Profile section opens first. On your own handle page, Edit profile goes to the same place.

Add a picture

A picture is the quickest way for people to spot your page. It can be a photo, a drawing, or a logo. Until you choose one, your page shows a blank picture.

At the top of the Profile section, choose a file, then select Upload image. Use a JPEG, PNG or GIF, up to 5 MB. The new picture shows right away. Handle takes details such as location and device out of the copy it keeps. To take the picture down, select Remove.

Add a name

Your name shows under your @handle. It can hold spaces, capitals and characters a handle cannot, so you can write it the way you say it. Changing it never changes your handle.

Type it in Name, up to 80 characters, and select Save changes. Leave it empty to show only your handle.

Write a short bio

A bio is one line under your name: what you do, what you make, or what you care about.

Type it in Bio, up to 160 characters, and select Save changes. An emoji counts as one character, and line breaks become spaces. Anyone who opens your handle page can read your bio, even when your profile is private.

Make it yours

There is no right way to fill in a profile. Add all three, one, or none, and change them whenever you like. Your name and bio are in your own words, and Handle does not check them.
